ACTIVITIES UNDER ASRLM MAJULI
With the objective of enhancing the social and economic empowerment of the rural poor women, a total 30136 nos. of poor House Holds were mobilized into 2769 Self Help Groups (SHG) under ASRLM Majuli. These SHGs were brought under the fold of 170 nos. of Village Organizations (VO) and 8 nos. of Cluster Level Federations (CLF) to evolve strategies and empower the poor through institution building for community participation. In order to provide access to credit and livelihood opportunities these SHGs were provided with funds such as Revolving Fund (1616 nos. amounting Rs.24,240,000/-),KAMS (1115 nos. @ Rs.10,000/- & 1617 nos. @ Rs.25,000/-), Community Investment Fund (2618 nos. of SHGs @Rs.50,000/-), Vulnerability Reduction funds and Bank loans.
With an aim of dissemination of information, awareness generation and strengthening the Community Based Organizations under ASRLM Majuli, trainings such as SHG/VO/CLF Basic Management, Book Keeping, FNHW, Gender mainstreaming etc trainings were provided.
Various Social Development activities such as plantation of saplings, Awareness drive on alcoholism, Food Nutrition Health & Wash, Poshan Abhiyan, Swachbharat, Child Marriage etc. were conducted under ASRLM Majuli which are contributing significant change in the community.
ASRLM Majuli has been working towards empowering of the rural poor particularly women. Women in rural areas earn their living in various ways. They undertake in farming or non farming activities . Majority of rural women suffers from multi-faceted poverty - economic poverty, information poverty, technological poverty, skill poverty etc. Empowering them is essential, not only for the well-beings of individuals, families and rural communities, but also for the overall economic development of the District. ASRLM intervenes in this vulnerable sector taking care of the rural women by up-scaling their knowledge in different fields and helping them in earning a dignified livelihood on their own. ASRLM Majuli has intervened in such a way that the capacity of the SHGs are built and women have learnt and tried various innovative measures apart from the normal agricultural activities like Systematic Rice Intensification (SRI) cultivation. Such of innovative ideas is the agri nutrition vegetable garden, Organic Agriculture etc. implemented in Majuli .
Various farm livelihood activities
paddy,mastured,seasonalvegatables,mashroom,strawberry,ginger,garlic,turmeric,sugarcrane etc. are conducted under ASRLM Majuli which are contributing significant change in the women economy.
The production of farm based activity ASRLM Majuli has promoted Producer groups for forward linkage of value chain project.
Livestock rearing plays an important role towards boosting the household income and are the main assets of rural women of Majuli. Generally, the income received from selling the livestock (piggery, poultry, duckery,goatery etc) is retained with the woman life
ASRLM Majuli have undertaken in non farming sector -water hyacinth production, bamboo production, paper plate making, sandal making, homestay, handloom, food processing etc.The 13 nos. of women have received seed capital under PMFME.
Under AGE yojana,ASRLM Majuli has purchased e-ricksaws and goods carrying vehicle. For the selling of SHG Products there are two nos of SHG outlet at Dariyapar,Majuli and Jengraimukh Ujani Majuli .The SHG made Water Hyacinth Product of Majuli is available at AMAZON.
